キリンは、長い脚と非常に長い首を持つ、アフリカのサバンナに生息するウシ科の動物で、現存する動物の中で最も背が高い。暗い斑点のある黄色の毛皮は、多くの場合、網目状になっている。2本以上の短く皮膚で覆われた角があり、いわゆる角状突起はオシコーンである。
